Emma Sabzalieva recognized with the “Dolores Cacuango” Honorable Mention
In the framework of International Women’s Day, Emma Sabzalieva, Director of Research and Foresight at UNESCO IESALC, was recognized by UTE University of Ecuador with an Honorable Mention that serves to highlight the work of outstanding women in different areas.
In virtue of her trajectory and merits, the Selection Committee resolved, in this fourth edition, to grant her the “Dolores Cacuango” Honorable Mention in the category of International Integration.
Sabzalieva expressed her gratitude for the privilege of being considered for this mention and thus being able to support the efforts to carry forward the legacy of Dolores Cacuango, Ecuadorian activist and pioneer in the struggle for Indigenous and peasant rights.
In accepting the award, Sabzalieva recognized the contributions of the all-female team, composed of Dana Abdrasheva, Eglis Chacón, Luz Gamarra Caballero and Bosen Lily Liu, who had together presented the UNESCO IESALC research on the Futures of Higher Education at the same university in 2022.
