Call for papers for the ESS Journal’s edition on academic freedom extended
Tuesday 18 October 2024 is the deadline for submissions for the thematic dossier entitled ‘Academic Freedom. Risks and threats’, corresponding to Vol. 36, No. 2 (July-December 2024) of the Journal Higher Education and Society (ESS) of the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC).
The thematic dossier will be under the responsibility of the professors of the University of Guadalajara (UDG-Mexico): Ricardo Pérez Mora, Blanca Inguanzo Arias and Carlos Iván Moreno, as guest editors. On this occasion, articles are invited that encourage discussion and analysis of the processes, risks and implications that threaten academic freedom in a complex and volatile context, characterised by interdependence; papers are expected to address the issue in its different logics: bureaucratic, market, power, cancellation and freedom itself. You can read more about these aspects in the base document of the call for papers.
The new closing date for the call is 18 October 2024.
All submissions must be made through the Journal of Higher Education and Society (ESS) platform where the submission guidelines and formats are available.
The general editor of the ESS Journal, Carlos Iván Moreno Arellano (Directorate General of Virtual University and Lifelong Digital Learning-UDGPlus), reminds that each article received will be subject to anonymous external peer review (double-blind).
