Multilateral Higher Education Initiatives in the Americas
2 December, 2020 hora: 1:00 pm
The Asociación Mexicana para la Educación Internacional (AMPEI) (Mexican Association for International Education) in collaboration with the Consorcio para la Educación Superior de América del Norte (Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration) will held the virtual conference Rebuilding the Global Village in order to present multilateral higher education initiatives in the Americas, from December 1st to 5th, 2020.
Through various initiatives in the Americas, multilateral organizations facilitate collaboration by aligning actions and resources to develop knowledge, teaching and learning and translational research and community engagement to make collective cultural, educational, scientific and technological progress. An important component is the development of collaboration frameworks at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels, in research, development and innovation and the increasing use of non-English American languages in academia. This webinar will present how institutions are strengthening higher education spaces in the Americas and in their relationships with other world regions.
On December 2nd, 2020, Francesc Pedró, director of the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC); Jesús Schucry Giacoman Zapata, director of the Department of Human Development, Education and Employment at the Organization of American States and Aliandra Barlete, Teaching Fellow in Education at the University of Edinburgh will talk about their organization’s role in education and explain some collaboration initiatives in the region.
