UNESCO IESALC’s participation in #WHEC2022 | Round Table: HE as a human right. Perspectives from youth and the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to education

Within the framework of the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022, UNESCO IESALC will take part in the Round Table: Higher education as a human right: Perspectives from youth and the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education at 9:30-11:00 (Spain time) on May 20, 2022.
Education is a fundamental human right for everyone. Commitment to the right to education extends to all levels of education because it is the right to lifelong learning and it is an integral part of the educational continuum; quality higher education should be available to all. To uphold this human right, higher education should be provided in different ways that embrace the very varied cultural, social, economic and linguistic backgrounds and interests of students around the world. To expand discussions around the right to higher education and move the international agenda forward, this session includes a speech by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, Dr Koumbou Boly Barry, and a panel discussion raising youth voices and providing fresh perspectives on the human right to higher education.
